Meet Ashley

I was born “Ashley Chase”, Schumaker is my married name. My father is Shawn Chase, and my mother is Tamie Harrington (Hansen). My stepmom Amy Chase (Suba) along with other relatives and friends have played a large role in shaping who I am.

I have lived in the village my entire life (except for about 6 months when I was a teenager). I spent my early childhood growing up on Elm Street next to Cattaraugus Container where my dad worked. During my teen years, I lived on Riggs Street (right by the school).

Since 2013, I have lived on Maple Avenue with my husband, Eric and 5-year-old son, Alex. My family, faith, and work are very important to me and are integrated into my daily life. These values guide my actions and decisions. I had a great career at Pioneer Credit as a Senior Manager. I accomplished a lot, learned a lot, and was able to travel regularly. I am still grateful for my time there and the people I was able to form lasting relationships with. This career path left me feeling empty like I was meant to do more with my life.

I always had a crazy dream to open my own restaurant. When Subway closed in February of 2018 and the opportunity opened here in the village for a new restaurant, I was all over it (7 months pregnant and all). Family, friends, and the entire community supported the adventure and I’m forever grateful. Having a newborn child & new business at the same time was a challenge but there were so many silver linings. This is the point in my life where I truly understood what God’s plan was for me, and I knew I was right where I was meant to be. Opening Rizzo’s Pizzeria has given me the opportunity and time to be with my family and that is invaluable.

Since 2017, I have served as a trustee for the village. During this time, I have actively participated, learned the ropes, and served as an advocate for residents. I have a strong relationship with the village employees & residents. I have also served as Deputy Mayor for Mayor Michael Sikora since 2022.

I have assisted in many things including but not limited to playing an active role in securing the necessary information for the capital water/sewer project to update our aging infrastructure and assisting Superintendent of Public Works Cary Hatch with securing the necessary easements needed to begin the water updates to provide service to Great Lakes Cheese. I regularly communicate with residents, business, and property owners regarding village matters including but not limited to one-time issues, basic questions, general updates on what is happening, etc.

If elected mayor, I will continue to be an advocate for our community and use my skillset to make our village successful.

Thank you for having faith in me and be sure to come out and vote on Tuesday March 19th!
